Brand the Kyan Classic Golf Tournament with a fresh logo and modern looking website
When the Lauby’s lost baby Kyan at one month old, they channeled their grief into something positive by creating the Kyan Classic Golf Tournament and Silent Auction, held annually to raise funds for the Children’s Hospitals & Clinics of Minnesota. In speaking with mom Elizabeth, her passionate exuberance for this idea was enough to make you teary eyed. She and husband Dustin did all the heavy lifting themselves – collecting auction items, marketing to participants, setting up funds, etc. So when she asked if I would be interested in helping them with the branding of the tournament, I happily accepted without a moment’s hesitation. We chatted about what they had in mind – Kyan means “king” so we played around with a crown a bit. She knew she wanted a baby blue for obvious reasons. Then we talked about their last night they spent with him on the lawn outside of Children’s where they looked at the stars. And then at his funeral, they saw three shooting stars and knew they were from their baby. A star! Definitely a star! This was the direction we took, to remind them of that special once-in-a-lifetime memory. And a star was born…along with a logo, a website and an incredibly fun golf tournament that has raised tens of thousands of dollars for the place Kyan called home.

“I had asked Nicki to help in designing at logo for an annual golf event to raise money for Children’s Hospitals and Clinics in MN. Nicki not only designed the perfect logo for us but she also created a website and flyers for our event. Nicki went so above and beyond and she was great to work with. Her creative style is amazing! I never thought I would be able to get a website, but she made it happen. Thanks to her, our event has been incredibly successful, raising over $35,000 for Children’s Hospital in two years! Nicki has such a passion for graphic design which makes her so fun to work with. I would recommend Nicki to anyone looking for help with graphic design, digital marketing and branding. Thank you, Nicki, for everything you have done for the Kyan Classic. The event would not be what it is today without you!”
