Come up with a logo and look for the inaugural St. Louis Park Art Fair for use in all of their branding materials.
I am in love with the city in which I live – just outside the big city but suburban enough to feel warm and safe. That’s why I was so crazy excited to be asked to create the branding for the first SLP Art Fair in 2018. Headed up by jewelry designer Alysha Boie, I had great encouragement and feedback when presenting ideas. She wanted something funky, eclectic and semi-hipster (like our city), but still simple, classic and legible. After presenting a number of graphics, we decided that a simplified “text-only” logo was the direction we wanted to go.
SLP school colors are orange and black, but we had to be careful to avoid a Halloweeny look (it’s not really a word, but whatever). White space helped to deflect this potential issue and she was very happy with the logos that were created for her use in various formats – from social media to posters to banners and letterhead, there was a logo for everything, cohesive, classy, creative and very SLP. I loved this opportunity!
